One price one every seat and every flight, no booking required

Published on April 4, 2004

Orient Thai Airlines became Thailands first low-cost airlines when it introduced One-Two-GO by Orient Thai Airlines on December 3, 2003 operating flights from Bangkok-Chiang Mai. The total number of 40,000 passengers who flew from Bangkok and Chiang Mai on One-Two-GO during December was beyond expected target. One-Two-GOs successful launch not only signaled for a great and positive future ahead, but opened up new and endless traveling opportunities to Thai travelers especially when Thai airways decreased its domestic air fare at phenomenal rate following One-Two-GOs launch.

One-Two-GOs launch led to the entry of other low-cost airlines under the name Air Asia. Though Air Asias low-cost airlines entity was similar to One-Two-GO, it had pursue a different pricing strategy by promoting differential pricing within the range of 99- more than 2,000 Baht on its domestic routes including Bangkok-Chiang Mai.

Following Air Asias entry and its differential pricing strategy, One-Two-GO had conducted a market study to analyze and evaluate consumers response, needs and wants and behavior regarding the low-cost airlines concept and the pricing mechanisms behind it in order to gain consumer insights of what is the best practice for a low-cost airlines in Thailand from the consumers perspectives. Our study came to a conclusion that although differential pricing strategy may yield lucrative short term profits, we believe in treating all our consumers fairly and are committed to providing convenient, easy and fair services to our consumers.

As a result, we are proud to present Thailands first GO SHOW FARE that will offer One price one every seat and every flight, no booking required on the following flights:

2. Bangkok Chiang Rai 1,199 Baht

Of which the GO SHOW FARE will be effective from April 1, 2004 onwards for Bangkok- Chiang Mai and from April 8, 2004 onwards from Chiang Rai, Phuket and Hatyai routes.
