Orient Thai Airlines Company Limited, an airline of Thailand was created with a mission to provide quality, innovative and affordable flights domestically within Thailand and all over the world.

ORIENT THAI AIRLINES is based in Bangkok, Thailand. Created in 1993, ORIENT THAI AIRLINES was granted an Operating Licence by the Department of Aviation in Thailand to operate within Thailand in areas and routes of air transport either identified as non-profitable or not operated by the National Airlines.

ORIENT THAI AIRLINES started operation with two units of BOEING 727 for a couple of years before upgrading the fleet to L1011 to improve its capacity and range of operation.

Before the turn of the century, ORIENT THAI AIRLINES added two LOCKHEED TRISTAR L1011 to expand its existing fleet, further improving capability for the expansion into the medium haul operations.

With a new century and an anticipated increase in demands for range and capacity, ORIENT THAI AIRLINES took delivery of two units of BOEING 747 Jumbo Jet aircraft.

In addition to scheduled international flights, ORIENT THAI AIRLINES also operates holiday charter flights and
Inclusive Tour Charter (ITC) on behalf of tour operators not only within Asia but also on a world
wide basis, offering an all seasons operation.

To maximize its services to the public, ORIENT THAI AIRLINES also specializes in operating flights on behalf of other airlines companies which may be experiencing an equipment or capacity shortage or simply are unable to respond to seasonal demands namely Air India, LTU and Fin Air etc.

1993	May	Registration of the Company.
1994	Jan. - Dec.	Preparation for Flight Operation.
1995	May	Granted permit from the Thai Authorities Took Delivery of Boeing B727 Aircraft
	August	Started domestic operation to 8 cities :- Chiengmai, Utapao, Phuket, Hatyai, Khon Kaen, Surajthani, Udonthani and Ubolrajthani connecting the cities where the national carrier had suspended the service to benefit the public on air transportation.
1996	Jan.-Dec.	Successfully carried more than 500,000 satisfied customers around Thailand.
1997	February	Took delivery of two wide-body Lockheed L1011 aircraft.
	July	Operated for Merpati Indonesia Airlines between Denpasar, Indonesia and Perth, Australia.
1998	Jan. - Dec.	Actively engaged with United Nations with International Organization for Migration (IOM) providing humanitarian service to carry refugees to home around the world.
1999	Jan. - Dec.	While pending for the outcome of appeal to Thai Government for the deregulations of Aviation's policy, ORIENT THAI AIRLINES continued to expand the charter services to many countries in middle east of Africa especially those countries lack of transportation.
2000	July	Increased the fleet by two more L1011 Aircraft.
2001	November	Took delivery of first 747 Jumbo aircraft.
	Feb. - Apr.	Awarded the contract by Air India for the transportation of 65,000 Haj 2001 Pilgrims.
2002	January	The long waiting moment came true, ORIENT THAI AIRLINESwon the appeal. The Government announced ending of monopoly polycy in aviation.
2002	February	Took delivery of second 747 Jumbo aircraft. Re-started scheduled services from Bangkok to Hong Kong and vice versa.
	April	Started Incheon, Korea services.
